Taipei

Sustaining NonProfits in an Unsustainable World

How to keep your mission alive is a burning question for most nonprofits.  Transitioning from a passion project to a sustainable organization is tough.  Deep dive into conversations about creating new solutions for social enterprise with members of ICA Taiwan, Brains on the Beach and Red Room Taipei.  

This event is a great opportunity for those interested in developing community based organizations in the midst of a for profit world.

Fee : NTD.  4,600 (USD 150)

(Food, housing, and travel to Taipei are NOT included. Housing is available starting at USD 50 per night upon request)

Social Participatory Community Development

Social responsibility and community participation are major areas of focus for universities around Taiwan.  Learn how DongHwa University is integrating students into several local community projects and increasing social engagement.  Participants will work with students, faculty members, and local residents on service design thinking, participatory skills, dialogue, and life skills.  Through participatory planning, students and residents will gain skills to make their projects sustainable and self-reliant going forward.  

For those looking to have a better understanding of social participation, this is a excellent opportunity to converse with C.P. Yen Foundation, ICA Taiwan, and other volunteers in the area.

Social Impact of Educators as Social Pioneers

Come take a look at how collaboration between rural-based and urban-based educators can lead to new insights on education. Participants will learn about exchanges between rural Sirayian tribe elementary schools and urban schools using an experimental education model.

This event is perfect for those wanting to participate in expanding education models focused on self directed inquiry based experiential learning. Discussions will revolve around directing students toward image change, developing innovative pedagogy, and introducing restorative justice for schools processes.
